Bake some Applesauce Muffins with our Easy Applesauce Muffin Recipe

These applesauce muffins are quick and easy to make and they smell divine when they come out of the oven. Although you can make the apple sauce from scratch I often just buy it ready made, which makes this muffin recipe really quick and easy.

Buying ready-made apple sauce can be expensive, especially if you buy it in the gourmet section. I cheat a little - I buy my bottled apple sauce in the baby food section! It is much cheaper and it is just the same thing as you would pay twice the price for two aisles over!

Another quick tip in making a quick apple sauce for these muffins is to buy cans of pie apples and cook them down. They have already been precooked, so it doesn't take long to get them to that sauce consistency.

I am always for looking for short cuts when cooking or baking.

1 kg apples
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
3/4 cup olive oil
1 cup brown sugar
4 1/2 cup plain flour
3 teaspoons baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
3/4 teaspoon allspice
1 cup sultanas

Stew apples with sugar to make 3 cups of applesauce. (Or you can cheat and buy it already made from the store!). Add eggs, oil, and sugar. Then add flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, allspice and sultanas. Bake in muffin tins at 175C (340 F) for  20 minutes.

Theses are really delicious and the smell of apple and spice as they cook cannot be beaten!
