Apple recipes for soups, muffins, leather, breads, cider and cakes. Apples are nutritious and can be used in a variety of ways. No matter how you use them the taste is always different. Baked apples taste very different to apple cider, or even apple fruit leather and believe it or not, you can also make apple soup!

One of my favorite apple recipes is Apple Tart Tartin. But there are a number of other recipes below that are just as nice! So many of us who have apple trees wonder what to do with apples once we have them. But once you start looking you realize that there really are lots of recipes for apples, many of them quick and easy which is even better!

Don't forget that apples are not just for desserts like apple pie or baked apples, but can easily be juiced up if you have a juicer, made into a delicious apple cider, or even pressed into a fruit leather which is a great food to take away on hikes, picnics and when you go camping.

Apples are good for you. You know the old adage; "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." In addition, apples are also low in calories, only containing about 80 calories per apple, so a great diet food.

Easy Fruit Leather Recipe for Apple Leather

Make a basic apple sauce and place in a thin layer on wax baking paper, oil side up. Place on drying trays and place in the sun away from insects for a few days until dry. Cut into strips and store in a dry place until later use.


All Homemade Tip

And here's a tip for those of you who are on diet, applesauce can be used to replace fat in recipes. So, for example if the recipe calls for 1/2 cup butter, you can use 1/2 cup of applesauce instead.
